DAY 01: FROM KILIMANJARO AIRPORT TO HOTEL IN ARUSHA
You
will be picked up and escorted to a hotel i the
outskirts of Arusha. Arusha is the town where all northern Tanzanian
safaris start. If you got the time take a walk and enjoy Africa, when
it is best. Leave your valuables and money in the hotel. Overnight : SG Resort or Lash Garden Hotel Meals : Breakfast | |
 | DAY 02 : ARUSHA - TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

The trip lasts almost 3 hours. After check-in you will have lunch. In
the afternoon there will be a game drive. In Tarangire
I have seen the largest herd of elephants ever, there were more than
120 in one herd. There is though one disadvantage in this park. There
are lots of tsetse flies, they bite but they do not carry
trypanosomiasis or sleeping sickness. It hurts when they bite,
but there is no itching afterwards. Overnight : Tarangire River Camp or Tarangire Sopa Lodge or simular Meals : Breakfast, lunch, dinner

and 600 meter deep.
All the "Big Five" - lion, buffalo, rhino, elephant and leopard is
present in this area. I have seen four of them, but leopards are very
hard to locate. Most of the elephants are old males, which cannot cope
in the huge areas and they cannot fight anymore. Here they have an
asylum. Overnight : Ngorongoro Farm House or Bougainville Safari Lodge or simular Meals : Breakfast, lunch, dinner |
DAY 05 : SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast you will head for Serengeti National Park,
where you will stay 3 days. There will be a game drive en route and you

Two
game drives - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Serengeti is
filled with game of all kinds. Here you can meet elephants, buffaloes,
lions and leopards, not to forget cheetahs. Hyenas are also present and
even black rhinos. They are very difficult to discover, because they
have been hunted by poachers so there are not many left. You will see
lots of antelopes and gazelles. You might also see hyrax here. They
look like huge guinea pigs but their nearest relative is the elephant. Overnight : Moivaro Ikoma Tented Camp or Kijereshi Tented Camp or simular Meals : Breakfast, lunch, dinner |
DAY 07 : SERENGETI NP
This
day you also have two game drives. You will probably see lots of
wildebeests and antelopes. Wildlife here of course depend on the time

This is an excavation where remains of the Zinjanthropus man, who
is 1.8 million years old. The finding was done by Dr. Leakey. Last time
I visited this place the toilet was the big attraction. Very primitive,
but without the smell in closed toilets. It was just a hole in the
ground with some planks above. If you like to see a
Maasai village you should do it from here to Lake Manyara. Again
you will pass mosquitotown. Overnight : Moivaro Migunga Forest Camp or simular Meals : Breakfast, lunch, dinner |
DAY 09 : LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

need to know this in advance. You have to follow their norms and not
offence anybody by wearing to daring clothes. You still can bathe in a
bikini and sunbathe but the bathing suit should only be worn at the
beach. Meals : Breakfast, lunch |
